SMART is recognizing the amazing job drivers have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It is more apparent than ever how essential public transportation is to keep the region moving and what a difference transit makes in the daily lives of so many people. SMART drivers help people get to work, make trips to the grocery store, pharmacy, and medical appointments. Transit Employee Appreciation Day is usually one day, but this year the celebration was extended for the entire month of March.
If you ride the SMART Transit Buses (Line Haulers or SMART Dial-A-Ride) please see below info for Warren and Center Line residents:
As of March 15, SMART is again collecting fares for service.
Free 60 Count (2 months allotment) bus tickets
You must be 60 years or older, or disabled
(Proof of disability: doctor’s note dated within the last 30 days)
Tickets cannot be used for Warren Parks & Recreation transportation
You must make an appointment
Call 586-268-0551 (between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) to pick up your tickets (between 1:30-4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday)
Tickets are only available for pickup at the Warren Community Center
5460 Arden, west of Mound Rd., south of 14 Mile
Things to bring when picking up tickets:
Driver’s license with Warren/Center Line address
or
Photo ID
Two (2) bills with your name and Warren/Center Line address
If you have tickets from pre-COVID, you may still use those, as those do not expire
